Katsina Governor Bans Miscreants, Forms Task Force

On [date not specified], Katsina State Governor Dikko Umaru Radda signed an executive order banning activities of miscreants associated with the Kaurayi Sarasuka gang. This decision aims to address the rising social disorder in the state.

The governor emphasized that his administration will not tolerate the persistence of such menaces within the metropolis. A multi-agency task force has been established to enforce the order, comprising representatives from various security agencies, including the Nigerian Police Department, State Security Service, Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps, National Community Watch Corps, and the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency.

The task force is mandated to identify and dismantle gang-related groups, conduct intelligence-driven operations, arrest and prosecute suspects, confiscate weapons, and monitor hotspots across the state. The task force will collaborate with traditional rulers and religious leaders to discourage youth involvement in criminal activities.

Governor Radda also announced the establishment of a special mobile court to expedite the trial of offenses related to the banned group.
