Katsina State Denies Sponsoring Bandits for Hajj

The Katsina State Government, through its spokesperson Nasir Muazu, has dismissed allegations that it sponsored bandits to perform Hajj, calling the claims made by Bashir Kurfi during a Trust TV program false and misleading. Muazu characterized the allegations as baseless and unfounded, aimed at misleading the public and undermining the efforts of government security agencies in addressing insecurity in the state.

He noted that the claims surfaced at a time when security agencies were achieving significant success in combating banditry and related crimes. Muazu expressed concern over the politicization of security issues by individuals or groups pursuing personal political interests.

He urged the public to disregard the allegations and continue supporting security agencies. The government also warned that it would explore legal means to protect its reputation against anyone spreading false and defamatory information.
