Katsina Elders Demand Release of Bashir Kurfi

Hassan Garba on behalf of the elder group highlighted Kurfi's consistent participation in various forums aimed at finding lasting solutions to the security challenges facing Katsina State and the country at large. The group expressed concern that Kurfi's continued detention sends a negative signal to individuals and organizations collaborating with security agencies.

They urged the Katsina State Government to prioritize the apprehension and prosecution of bandits and criminal elements instead of targeting citizens who contribute ideas and expertise toward restoring peace and security. The elders appealed for immediate steps to ensure Kurfi's release, emphasizing the need for sustained collaboration among stakeholders to end banditry.
