Katsina Government Denies Sponsoring Bandits for Hajj

The Katsina State Government issued a statement denying allegations made by Dr. Bashir Kurfi during a program on Trust TV, which claimed that the government sponsored bandit leaders to attend Hajj in Saudi Arabia.

The government, represented by Commissioner for Internal Security Dr. Nasir Muazu Dammusa, described the allegations as entirely baseless and devoid of factual basis, aimed at misleading the public and undermining security efforts in the state.

The statement emphasized that certain individuals and groups are driven by selfish interests and are politicizing security issues for personal gain. The government noted its significant successes in combating banditry and related criminal activities.

Furthermore, it warned that if Dr. Kurfi fails to provide substantial evidence for his claims, the government would explore legal means to protect its reputation against the spread of false and defamatory information.

The Katsina State Government urged the public to disregard the allegations and continue supporting security agencies.
