Katsina Government Enhances TSA to Curb Financial Leakages

The Katsina State Government has initiated efforts to prevent financial leakages and enhance the implementation of the Treasury Single Account (TSA) system. This was announced by the state Commissioner for Finance, Alhaji Bello Hussaini Kagara, during a one-day capacity-building workshop on TSA implementation held on Thursday.

Kagara urged accountants and financial officers to maintain high ethical standards and improve the efficiency of the TSA system. The training aimed to strengthen the capacity of financial officers, identify operational gaps, and enhance transparency in financial management.

Kagara highlighted previous assessments that uncovered instances of funds being misallocated to unintended accounts, stressing the need to address these issues. He encouraged participants to provide practical recommendations to improve TSA operations and assured them that their contributions would be taken seriously by the government.

Kagara also emphasized the importance of ongoing training for financial officers to keep them updated on public financial management developments.
