Troops Recover Livestock, Arrest Bandits in Kaduna

On June 20 and 21, 2026, troops from the Joint Task Force North West conducted operations in Kaduna State, successfully recovering rustled livestock and arresting suspected bandits. Lieutenant Colonel Aliyu Danja disclosed that these operations are part of ongoing efforts to combat terrorism and banditry in the North West region.

On June 20, troops responded to credible intelligence regarding cattle rustling, engaging in a firefight that resulted in the neutralization of two bandits and the recovery of weapons, ammunition, and stolen livestock. Unfortunately, a civilian reportedly lost their life during the incident.

Additionally, troops arrested two suspects on June 21 after encountering armed criminals, recovering items including a motorcycle and a device containing incriminating evidence. The suspects are currently in custody and undergoing further investigation to determine their involvement in criminal activities in the region.
