Soldiers Rescue Nine Kidnap Victims in Katsina State

On Friday, soldiers from the Joint Task Force, under the command of Lt. Col.

Aliyu Danja, successfully rescued nine kidnap victims in Katsina State. The operation took place in the Faskari Local Government Area, where the victims, comprising three women, four men, and two children, had been abducted by terrorists on July 9, 2026, along the Tsafe-Kucher road in the Tsafe Local Government Area of Zamfara State.

The victims managed to escape when their captors fell asleep, allowing the troops to intercept them. Following their rescue, the victims were reported to be in safe custody and were undergoing a process to reunite with their families.

Additionally, the troops thwarted an attempt by terrorists to rustle livestock in the Bakori Local Government Area, recovering 56 animals, including four cattle and fifty-two sheep. The operation also led to the arrest of a suspect linked to terrorist activities in the Danmusa Local Government Area, with further investigations ongoing.
