Katsina State Launches Data-Driven Development Plan

On Thursday, Katsina State Governor Mallam Dikko Umar Radda, represented by his deputy Faruk Jobe, launched the Katsina State Development Plan, State Social Protection Policy, Multi-Sectoral Strategic Plan of Action for Food and Nutrition, State Nutrition Policy, General Household Survey Report, and Statistical Yearbook. These documents, implemented by the Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning through the Bureau of Statistics, signify a commitment to using credible data for planning and governance.

Radda emphasized that the development plan would serve as a strategic blueprint for transforming the state's economy, identifying priority areas such as agriculture, education, healthcare, infrastructure, industrialization, environmental sustainability, digital innovation, security, governance, and youth empowerment. The plan aligns with the administration's Building Your Future (BYF) policy framework and national development strategies.

Radda also noted improvements in security, enabling farmers to return to their farms, and highlighted the state's hybrid social protection model, which has assisted over 50,555 beneficiaries through the Zakat program, mobilizing over N1.9 billion for vulnerable households.
