American pop star Katy Perry is currently facing a police investigation in Australia due to a sexual assault allegation made by actress Rubi Rose. Rose, known for her role in the television series "Orange is the New Black," took to social media to accuse Perry of assaulting her at a nightclub in Melbourne nearly two decades ago.

Following the public attention generated by her post, which has since been deleted, Rose formally submitted a report to the police. The Victoria State Police confirmed that they are investigating the historical case of sexual assault that allegedly occurred in Melbourne in 2010, although they did not mention Perry's name in their statements.

A police spokesperson acknowledged the ongoing investigation but refrained from making further comments. In response, Perry's representatives have strongly denied the allegations, describing them as baseless and harmful, and stated that Rose has a documented history of making serious public allegations against various individuals, which they claim have been repeatedly denied.
