Kebbi ADC Candidates Deny Allegations of Conspiracy

Three candidates of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Kebbi State, Abubakar Sadiq Sa’adu Fakai, Muhammad Umar, and Nafiu Bello Shuwa, have publicly denied allegations that they are being sponsored to undermine the party’s governorship candidate, Abubakar Malami. They are currently engaged in a legal battle to contest their alleged replacement following the party's primaries.

In a statement released on Saturday, the candidates characterized the claims of sponsorship as baseless and accused certain party members of forging affidavits and other documents that falsely indicated their voluntary withdrawal from the race. Fakai, speaking on behalf of the group, asserted that they are not in conflict with Malami or the ADC but are determined to reclaim their mandates through legal means.

He described the alleged forgery as a criminal offense and expressed concern that actions by some party members could create divisions within the ADC, ultimately undermining Malami's candidacy. The candidates reaffirmed their loyalty to the ADC and their commitment to pursuing their legal challenges.
