ADC Alleges Voter Intimidation in Kebbi Ahead of Elections

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Kebbi State has expressed serious concerns regarding alleged voter intimidation linked to Atiku Kalcha, the chairman of Gwandu Local Government Area. The ADC claims Kalcha warned residents that those who did not vote for the All Progressives Congress candidate could face punishment or violence.

A viral video shows Kalcha urging party supporters to ensure protection at polling units and threatening repercussions for anyone speaking against the governor. In a statement signed by Deputy Publicity Secretary Abubakar Musa, the ADC called for an urgent and impartial investigation into these allegations, emphasizing that if confirmed, they would pose a significant threat to electoral freedom and public peace.

The ADC reiterated that every Nigerian has the right to vote without fear of intimidation or violence and urged security agencies to take appropriate action if threats are substantiated. The party also called on civil society and media organizations to monitor the situation and verify reports of intimidation.
