Mungadi Resigns as AFUSTA Acting VC Amid Challenges

Professor Ismaila Mungadi announced his resignation as Acting Vice-Chancellor of Abdullahi Fodio University of Science and Technology (AFUSTA) in Kebbi State, effective August 28, 2026. In his resignation letter addressed to the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the University’s Governing Council, Mungadi stated that he accepted the role with a mandate to stabilize the university and restore academic integrity.

He expressed appreciation to Kebbi State Governor Dr Nasir Idris for the opportunity to serve. However, Mungadi noted that recent developments had hindered his ability to perform his duties effectively and maintain institutional harmony.

Despite efforts to address the challenges through appropriate channels, he concluded that resignation was the best course of action for the university's interest. His resignation comes nearly two months after his appointment, following the dissolution of the university's Governing Council.
