Kebbi Governor Dismisses Maidoki's APC Ticket Claims

Kebbi State Governor Nasir Idris issued a statement on Thursday through his Chief Press Secretary, Ahm Idris, refuting claims made by Senator Garba Musa Maidoki regarding the loss of the All Progressives Congress (APC) ticket for re-election. Maidoki, representing Kebbi South Senatorial District, had alleged during a television program that he lost the ticket due to insecurity in the state.

Governor Idris characterized Maidoki's claims as misleading and an attempt to justify his political setbacks. He argued that the senator's assertions were far from the truth and that the people of Kebbi are entitled to assess the performance of their leaders to determine their deservingness for mandates.

The governor maintained that the outcome of the APC primary elections reflects the decisions of party members and stakeholders, asserting that his administration has made significant progress in tackling insecurity, particularly in the Zuru Emirate area affected by banditry and kidnapping. He urged Maidoki to accept the electoral outcome in good faith.
