Kebbi State Remits N21.5bn for 2027 Hajj Preparations

The Kebbi State Pilgrims Welfare Agency has remitted N21.5 billion to the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) as part of the preparations for the 2027 Hajj operation. Alhaji Faruk-Aliyu Yaro-Enabo, the Executive Chairman of the agency, announced this on Wednesday during a courtesy visit from NAHCON's Commissioner for the North-West, Sheikh Muhammad Usman, to Governor Nasir Idris at the Government House in Birnin Kebbi.

The agency has registered 3,257 intending pilgrims, which is 95% of its target and the highest number recorded by any state for the upcoming pilgrimage. Yaro-Enabo stated that 85% of the Hajj fares have been remitted to NAHCON, with an outstanding N5 billion to be paid shortly before the September 26 registration deadline.

The agency has also begun medical screenings for intending pilgrims to ensure compliance with Saudi Arabian health requirements. Governor Idris praised NAHCON for improvements in Hajj administration and commended the agency's efforts and leadership.
