Kwara Sets ₦5m Deposit for 2027 Hajj Pilgrims

The Kwara State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board has announced an initial deposit of ₦5m for intending pilgrims from the state for the 2027 Hajj. The balance of the fare is to be paid by the end of November 2026.

This information was released in a statement by the board’s Press Secretary, Jimoh Jumoke. Executive Secretary Abdulsalam Abdulkadir stated that preparations for the pilgrimage have begun, aiming to provide a smooth and well-coordinated experience.

Intending pilgrims must present valid international passports to make the initial payment, with the remaining balance to be determined and paid within the specified timeline. Abdulkadir urged pilgrims to make payments only through designated banks and to renew any passports expiring before April 2027.

He also announced improvements in airlift arrangements, increasing capacity from 260 to 560 pilgrims per trip, thereby reducing the number of trips from 15 to four. Abdulkadir expressed gratitude to Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, Emir Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, and the Chief Imam of Ilorin for their support.
