Kwara State Sets N5m Payment for 2027 Hajj Pilgrims

The Kwara State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, led by Executive Secretary Alhaji Abdulsalam Abdulkadir, has announced an initial payment of N5 million for intending pilgrims as preparations for the 2027 Hajj commence. Intending pilgrims are required to pay the remaining balance by the end of November 2026.

Abdulkadir advised that payments should be made only through designated banks using approved bank drafts and emphasized the importance of timely submission of all required documents. He also urged pilgrims to renew any international passports expiring before April 2027 to avoid documentation issues.

The Board has enhanced its airlift capacity, increasing from approximately 260 to 560 pilgrims per trip, which reduces the number of trips from about 15 to four, thereby shortening the airlift period. Abdulkadir assured that the welfare of pilgrims is a priority and thanked Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq and other stakeholders for their support.
