Keyamo to Update Tinubu on Aviation Dispute Resolution

Festus Keyamo, the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, is set to brief President Bola Tinubu on the resolution achieved between aviation sector unions and the Airline Operators of Nigeria concerning the Ticket Sales Charge (TSC) dispute. This development follows an emergency meeting convened by Keyamo on Thursday in Abuja, which included the feuding parties and occurred shortly after the unions suspended their industrial action that had disrupted flight operations at major airports.

The meeting, which Keyamo attended virtually, resulted in a five-point resolution addressing grievances related to outstanding TSC payments, workers' rights to join trade unions, and measures to prevent further disruptions. Keyamo directed Permanent Secretary Mahmud Kambari to prepare a detailed brief for the President and a public statement.

The resolutions include obtaining payment schedules from airlines, allowing workers to decide on union membership, and ensuring unions have access to workers. The parties agreed to reconvene in one month to assess the implementation of these resolutions.
