Kogi First Lady Empowers 500 Vulnerable Residents

On World Charity Day 2026, Hajia Sefinat Usman Ododo, the First Lady of Kogi State, distributed cash gifts and food items to 500 elderly women and vulnerable residents. The charity event included a roadwalk from Obasanjo Square to the Kogi State Government House in Lokoja and was attended by government officials, community leaders, and residents.

During the event, Hajia Ododo emphasized the importance of compassion and collective responsibility in fostering an inclusive society. She stated that her humanitarian platform, the Ohunene Empowerment Initiative (OEI), would continue to support the less privileged.

She urged privileged Nigerians to adopt a spirit of charity and highlighted the efforts of Nigeria's First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, in improving the welfare of women and children. Various speakers, including Doctor Oluseyi Bamidele Folagbade, commended her generosity, and beneficiaries expressed gratitude for the support, which they noted would help alleviate their immediate challenges.
