Kogi West APC Rejects Substitution of Senate Candidate Aro

Stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kogi West have publicly rejected the alleged substitution of Hon. Samuel Bamidel Aro as the party's senatorial candidate.

This protest was led by key party officials, including Hon. Aledar Emmanuel Ayo, the Kogi West zonal chairman, and Hon.

Aliyu Salihu, the deputy state chairman. They described the alleged substitution as illegal and warned that it undermines party unity and could weaken the APC's electoral fortunes ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The stakeholders emphasized that the senatorial primary, conducted on July 6, 2026, was valid and produced Aro as the winner. They argued that Sen.

Sundai Karimi, who is reportedly involved in the substitution claim, has neither challenged the primary's outcome through the party's internal appeal mechanisms nor obtained a court judgment to nullify Aro's victory. The stakeholders have submitted a petition to the APC national secretariat, urging the National Working Committee to investigate the circumstances surrounding the alleged substitution and restore Aro as the authentic senatorial candidate for Kogi West.
