Kwankwaso Calls for Probe into Killing of Kano Commentator

Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, the Vice Presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), condemned the killing of social media political commentator Ibrahim Khalil Dan Shagamu, whose body was discovered in a pool of blood at his residence in Kano State. In a statement on his Facebook page, Kwankwaso expressed deep disturbance over the incident, labeling it a horrific attack.

He called for the Kano State Government to promptly establish an investigative panel to determine the circumstances surrounding Dan Shagamu's death and to bring those responsible to justice. Kwankwaso emphasized that Dan Shagamu was brutally slaughtered and warned that if the authorities did not take decisive action, an incoming NDC administration would investigate the matter upon taking office.

He also urged both state and Federal Governments to enhance the protection of opposition voices in Nigeria, asserting that freedom of expression is guaranteed by the Nigerian Constitution and should protect citizens from threats and intimidation.
