Obi and Kwankwaso Strategize for 2027 Elections in Abuja

On Monday, Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), and his running mate, Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso, convened with various NDC gubernatorial, senatorial, and other candidates at the Obidient Movement Headquarters in Abuja. The meeting, which Obi described in a statement issued on Tuesday, aimed to discuss strategies for enhancing the party's outreach ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Obi emphasized the importance of communicating the party's message of "national redemption" to rural communities across Nigeria. He assured the candidates of his unwavering support in their respective states and constituencies, pledging to collaborate with them to secure electoral victories.

Obi characterized his partnership with Kwankwaso as a collaborative effort to address what he termed "calamitous and ineffective leadership" in Nigeria. He outlined key focus areas for his potential administration, including poverty alleviation, education, support for small businesses, and national security, while urging NDC candidates to intensify grassroots efforts as the elections approach.
