Kwankwaso Sues Primate Ayodele for Defamation Claims

Rabiu Kwankwaso, the Vice Presidential candidate of the Nigerian Democrat Congress (NDC) and former Governor of Kano State, has initiated legal action against Primate Elijah Ayodele, the cleric of INRI Evangel Spiritual Church. The lawsuit is in response to alleged defamatory remarks made by Ayodele during a live-streamed church service.

Kwankwaso's legal team, led by Magaji Mato Ibrahim, demands an immediate retraction and apology from Ayodele. The controversy arose from a viral video in which the cleric purportedly made comments questioning Kwankwaso's integrity and suggesting he would betray Peter Obi, who is the running mate of Kwankwaso.

The remarks were characterized as libelous, with Kwankwaso's team asserting that Ayodele's statements were false and damaging to his reputation.
