Kwankwaso's Ally Abdullahi Joins APC, Backs Tinubu

Kabiru Adamu Abdullahi, a prominent figure in the Kwankwasiyya political movement in Dala Local Government Area of Kano State, has resigned from the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) to join the All Progressives Congress (APC) and support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general election. Abdullahi announced his decision after nearly three decades of association with Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, stating that his long tenure did not yield the political recognition and opportunities he expected.

He communicated his resignation through a letter to the NDC chairman in Kofar Ruwa Ward, expressing dissatisfaction with unfulfilled promises. Abdullahi had previously resigned from the African Democratic Congress (ADC) following directives from Kwankwaso, who has been a significant political figure in northern Nigeria.

While Kwankwaso has shown openness to collaborating with the APC, he emphasized the need for assurances regarding his political structure and supporters before any potential defection.
