Kwara APC and PDP Clash Over Attack on Party Chieftain

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kwara Central Senatorial District condemned an unprovoked violent attack on party chieftain Alhaja Tawakalitu Agaka, which occurred after her empowerment program in Ilorin. APC Chairman Memudu Turawa issued a statement urging the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to refrain from violence and intimidation, emphasizing that such actions against Agaka, who is a respected community leader, are unacceptable.

The APC called on security agencies to identify and address those responsible for the attack. In response, the PDP criticized Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for the behavior of his aides, who allegedly insulted citizens opposing an APC event.

PDP State Publicity Secretary Olusegun Olusola Adewara described the APC's comments as absurd and reflective of the government's frustration amid widespread rejection in Kwara State. The PDP asserted that the individuals confronting the APC were not affiliated with their party, countering the APC's narrative of political violence.
