Dauda Lata Resigns from APC Over Insecurity and Crisis

Dauda Lata, the former Patigi Local Government Chairman and ex-member of the Kwara State House of Assembly, has resigned from the All Progressives Congress (APC). In a letter to the APC chairman of Lade Ward III, Lata cited worsening insecurity in his constituency, internal party developments, and concerns about the political situation in Kwara State as reasons for his resignation, which takes immediate effect.

His decision followed extensive consultations with political leaders and stakeholders across Patigi, Kwara North, and Kwara State. Lata's exit is significant amid a wave of resignations from the APC, including Senator Saliu Mustapha, who recently left due to prolonged internal crises.

Many resigning members have pointed to internal disagreements and perceived exclusion. Lata emphasized that his decision was made after careful reflection and assessment of the political landscape and the expectations of his constituents.

He expressed gratitude to the APC for the opportunities he had during his tenure and urged his supporters to remain peaceful and united as he considers his next political steps.
