Kwara State Polytechnic to Charge for Unclaimed Certificates

Kwara State Polytechnic, located in Ilorin, has announced a new policy regarding unclaimed certificates. Starting January 1, 2027, the institution will impose a monthly charge of ₦2,000 for any certificates that remain unclaimed.
This decision was communicated in a statement signed by Saka Eletu, the Deputy Registrar of the Examinations and Records Division, on behalf of the Acting Registrar. The polytechnic has issued a final notice to graduands and alumni, urging them to collect their certificates before the deadline of December 31, 2026.
Many certificates belonging to former students who completed their programs are still in the institution's custody. The statement emphasized the importance of these certificates for employment, further studies, and professional advancement.
Graduates must present their original statements of result, valid identification, and evidence of payment to collect their certificates. The polytechnic encouraged affected individuals to take advantage of the grace period to avoid incurring additional charges.
