Kwara Polytechnic Launches Anti-Corruption Unit

On Thursday, Kwara State Polytechnic inaugurated its Anti-Corruption and Transparency Unit (ACTU), with the ceremony conducted by officials from the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC). The rector, Dr. Abdul Jimoh Mohammed, expressed the management's commitment to collaborating with the ICPC to foster a corruption-free environment.

He identified lack of discipline as a significant challenge to national development and affirmed the polytechnic's resolve to work with the ACTU and other agencies to combat corruption and unethical practices. The ACTU members were selected from both academic and non-academic staff to ensure diverse representation.

Elijah Akaa-Kohol, the ICPC delegation's team lead, described corruption as a destructive force that impedes societal progress and national security, urging the new ACTU members to promote accountability and transparency. The newly appointed ACTU chairman, Umar S.
