Kwara State Trains 150 Farmers for Economic Growth

The Kwara State government conducted a five-day capacity training program for 150 farmers to improve economic targets and food sufficiency. The farmers, with 30 participants from each of the five Special Agric-Industrial Processing Zone (SAPZ) catchment areas—Ifelodun, Asa, Kaiama, Baruten, and Mooro—focused on high-yield seeds, crop protection products, and fertilizers.

Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, represented by the commissioner for finance, Dr. Hauwa Nuru, stated that the training aligns with the governor's vision to enhance the economy and create jobs. He noted the necessity for collaboration with financial institutions and relevant agencies to leverage agriculture for economic growth and improved living standards.

Abdulrazaq urged the farmers to take the training seriously and encouraged facilitators to provide practical insights. Engineer Busari Toyin Isiaka, the SAPZ coordinator, emphasized that being a smart farmer is essential for success in agriculture.
