KWARTMA Announces Traffic Changes for Oko-Olowo Flyover

The Kwara State Road Traffic Management Authority (KWARTMA) has announced traffic adjustments around Oko-Olowo Junction in Ilorin as preparatory work begins for the construction of the Oko-Olowo Flyover. An entrance and exit connecting the Oloje axis has been cordoned off, and temporary alternative routes have been established to facilitate movement and minimize congestion.

The initial phase of the project will include soil sampling, column-related investigations, and other technical assessments prior to full construction. KWARTMA stated that it will collaborate with relevant stakeholders to manage traffic throughout the construction period, with plans to communicate permanent alternative routes and additional diversion measures to the public once finalized.

Motorists and commuters are advised to exercise caution, reduce speed, and comply with traffic signs and directives from traffic management personnel. KWARTMA also warned against indiscriminate parking along the route, which could increase the risk of road crashes and cause delays, urging public cooperation with traffic officials.
