Lagos Announces Traffic Diversion for Oke-Afa Bridge Rehab

The Lagos State Government has issued a traffic diversion plan for the rehabilitation of Oke-Afa Bridge in Isolo, commencing on Friday, August 28, 2026, and continuing until Friday, September 18, 2026. The Lagos State Ministry of Transportation announced this on Monday, August 24, 2026.

The rehabilitation will occur in two phases to facilitate vehicular movement. The first phase will address the outbound Isolo-to-Ejigbo axis from August 28 to September 11, while the second phase will focus on the inbound Ejigbo-to-Isolo axis from September 12 to September 18.

The project is managed by the Federal Ministry of Works, with Messrs. Strabic Construction Limited as the contractor.

During the rehabilitation, Oke-Afa Bridge will be temporarily closed to vehicles, requiring motorists to use designated diversions. The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority will oversee traffic coordination, and an emergency tow vehicle will be available for breakdowns.

This project is part of a broader drainage reconstruction initiative aimed at improving stormwater management and reducing flooding in the area.
