Nigerian Government to Repair Okeola-Oro Bridge Soon

The Director of the Federal Highway Department at the Federal Ministry of Works, Engineer Musa Saidu, announced that repairs on the Okeola-Oro Bridge in Kwara will soon commence. This decision follows an appeal from Oba Joel Olaniyi Oyatoye Titiloye Olufayo II, the Oloro of Oro Kingdom, who contacted Saidu to highlight the dangers posed by the bridge's deteriorating condition.

Personnel from the Federal Roads Maintenance Agency (FERMA) have already visited the site to assess the damage. The bridge is crucial as it links Kwara, Kogi, and Ekiti states and serves thousands of road users.

The Oloro commended FERMA for its prompt response and assured the support of the Oro Kingdom's people for the swift rehabilitation of the federal highway. Additionally, Oba Joel Olaniyi Oyatoye Titiloye Olufayo II, along with his chiefs, visited the bridge to implement preventive measures to safeguard road users, especially those traveling at night.
