Rhodes-Vivour to Contest Lagos 2027 Elections Independently

Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, the governorship candidate for the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in the 2027 Lagos elections, announced his intention to contest without the influence of Peter Obi, the former governor of Anambra State. In an interview on Thursday, Rhodes-Vivour expressed confidence in his grassroots mobilization efforts and the need for a broad coalition across different demographics in Lagos.

He acknowledged the political landscape's peculiarities and emphasized the importance of engaging with residents to address issues such as demolition across Lagos. Rhodes-Vivour stated that his political profile has grown since the 2023 governorship elections and that he is focused on building structures within the community to strengthen connections and reinforce his vision for the state.

He noted that while Peter Obi was a fantastic candidate, the unique political environment in Lagos necessitates a diverse coalition to effectively engage the electorate.
