Sanwo-Olu Requests Budget Reordering in Lagos Assembly

The Lagos State House of Assembly has received a request from Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for the reordering of the "Budget of Shared Prosperity." The letter was presented by the Clerk, Mrs. Adenike Oshinowo, detailing the priorities for the proposed changes. Hon. Olumoh Sa’ad, Chairman of the Committee on Economic Planning and Budget, mentioned that the 2026 Budget had achieved approximately 69 percent performance, making the reordering essential for directing resources to priority areas.

Hon. Aro Moshood referred to the reordering as a dividend of democracy, while Hon. Gbolahan Yishawu advocated reallocating funds to projects nearing completion. Hon. Kehinde Joseph called for increased attention to environmental issues, particularly drainage and flood-control projects.

Following the discussions, Speaker Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Obasa referred the proposal to the Committee on Economic Planning and Budget, instructing it to report back within two weeks.
