Sanwo-Olu Praises Tinubu for Increased State Allocations

At the 7th annual lecture of Freedom Online, themed “2027 Elections: Economy, Security and Nigeria’s Future,” Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu remarked on the significant increase in allocations to states and local governments following the removal of fuel subsidies. He praised President Bola Tinubu's administration for ensuring that more resources are available to subnational governments, which he believes will enhance development projects and citizens' welfare.

Sanwo-Olu emphasized that the responsibility for utilizing these funds effectively now lies with state and local governments, stating, “The President has done his part; the money is arriving.” He also commended Tinubu for his response to the recent Osun State governorship election, where the APC candidate lost to Ademola Adeleke of the Accord Party, noting that Tinubu's congratulatory message to Adeleke reflects Nigeria's growing democratic maturity.
