Lagos to Upgrade Turnbull-Parkview Intersections in 2026

The Lagos State Government is set to initiate a six-month improvement project at the Turnbull-Parkview intersections along Gerrard Road, Ikoyi, starting September 14, 2026. This initiative aims to ease traffic congestion in the area.

Oluwaseun Osiyemi, the Lagos State Commissioner for Transportation, announced the project during a stakeholders’ engagement meeting at Banana Island Estate, Ikoyi. He urged stakeholders to collaborate with the Ministry to ensure timely project delivery and assured residents that measures would be implemented to minimize disruptions during construction.

The project focuses on upgrading the intersections to reduce traffic bottlenecks and facilitate smoother vehicle movement. Osiyemi also mentioned a compensation plan for any private property encroachments due to the project.

Bolaji Bada, the Director of Transport Engineering at the Lagos State Ministry of Transportation, provided details on the junction improvement works, noting that the junctions connect to major roads and often face gridlock, especially during peak hours.
