Lagos to Reconstruct Ikoyi Intersections in Six Months

The Lagos State Government has announced plans to reconstruct two significant intersections in the Ikoyi area, specifically at Parkview and Banana Island, with an expected completion timeline of six months. State Commissioner for Transportation, Oluwaseun Osiyemi, revealed this during a stakeholders’ engagement, emphasizing the government's commitment to addressing traffic challenges in the high-density residential and business corridor.

The projects are set to commence shortly, with the government coordinating with residents, contractors, traffic managers, utility providers, and other stakeholders to ensure minimal disruption. Osiyemi stated that while the construction duration is six months, efforts will be made to complete it ahead of schedule.

He acknowledged the potential impact on residents and businesses but assured that the work schedule would be adjusted according to traffic patterns, slowing down during peak periods and intensifying during off-peak times. Administrative procedures must be finalized before construction begins to prevent creating new issues.
