Lagos Honors 506 Local Government Workers for Service

The Lagos State Government recognized 506 officers of the Unified Local Government Service for their long service at the 2026 Long Service Merit Award ceremony held at the Adeyemi Bero Auditorium, Alausa, Ikeja, on Tuesday. Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, represented by Deputy Governor Kadri Obafemi Hamzat, commended the awardees for their dedication, perseverance, and professionalism.

Sanwo-Olu emphasized the importance of their service in the institutional history of Lagos and assured public servants of continued support from his administration and future governments. He highlighted the critical role of the Unified Local Government Service in delivering government services at the grassroots level and urged younger officers to learn from the awardees.

The Head of Service, Bode Agoro, praised the state government for maintaining the Long Service Merit Award and encouraged younger officers to commit to continuous learning and health prioritization through the Ilera Eko health insurance policy.
