Oyo State Promotes 1,535 Local Government Workers

The Oyo State government has promoted 1,535 workers across the 33 local government areas, issuing promotion letters as part of the 2025 local government promotion exercise. This promotion affects employees on Grade Levels 06 to 17 within the Local Government Service Commission and various departments.

The breakdown of promotions includes 288 from Administration and General Services, 57 from Agriculture and Natural Resources, 40 from Budget, Planning, Research and Statistics, 431 from Education and Social Services, 44 from Environmental Health Services, 315 from Finance and Supplies, and 360 from Works, Housing, Lands and Survey. Bashorun Akinwole, Chairman of the Oyo State Local Government Service Commission, stated that this initiative demonstrates Governor Seyi Makinde’s commitment to improving workers' welfare and morale.

He emphasized that the prompt release of promotion letters aims to prevent stagnation among civil servants and recognize hard work. Akinwole encouraged the promoted workers to view their elevation as both a reward and a call to greater responsibility in service delivery.
