ILO Train-Trainer Programme Launched in Nigeria
Simply Exponential Consult Limited has initiated the rollout of the International Labour Organization’s Start and Improve Your Business (ILO SIYB) Train-Trainer (TOT) Programme in Lagos and Abuja. Morounfayo Williams, the firm’s Founder and Managing Partner and an ILO-certified master trainer, announced this at a press conference in Lagos.
The two-week hybrid certification initiative is designed to build the capacity of professionals who assist entrepreneurs and small businesses in Nigeria. The ILO SIYB programme, utilized in over 90 countries, offers practical training packages to help aspiring entrepreneurs develop viable business ideas and improve existing enterprises.
The TOT course will take place from 21 September to 5 October, followed by a 30-day implementation phase. Key features include three core training packages: Generate Your Business Idea, Start Your Business, and Improve Your Business, along with various hands-on learning tools.
The programme targets business development service providers, SME Desk Officers, and trainers passionate about entrepreneurship education. Adewale-Smart Oyerinde, Director-General of Nigeria Employers’ Consultative Association, emphasized the importance of structured business training for survival and growth in Nigeria’s economy.
