Lagos to Gazette Wetlands and Mangroves to Address Coastal Challenges

Lagos State is set to gazette wetlands and mangroves as a strategic response to the challenges posed by rising sea levels affecting coastal communities. The long-term plan, disclosed by Mr.

Tokunbo Wahab during a press briefing, is part of efforts to enhance coastal resilience in the face of climate change impacts. The upcoming Lagos International Climate Change Summit 2025 aims to focus on the themes of blue economy and green finance to address Africa's coastal resilience and ocean innovation.

The summit will bring together stakeholders from various sectors to explore sustainable solutions and mobilize resources for climate adaptation and mitigation.
