Lagos State Government Launches Six Road Projects

The Lagos State Government has commenced the construction of six roads in Ajeromi-Ifelodun Local Government and Ifelodun Local Council Development Area, totaling 1,835 meters. The projects were flagged off by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, represented by Nurudeen Agbaje, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Rural Development.

The roads include Asubiojo Street (320m), Owoseni Street (115m), Cemetery Market Road (250m), Isikalu Street (560m), Alayabiagba Street (320m), and Odofin Street (270m). The reconstruction will feature interlocking pavement, covered drainage systems, and solar-powered streetlights.

The government anticipates project completion within 12 months. Agbaje stated that these initiatives aim to enhance infrastructure development in communities, improve access to markets and public services, reduce transportation costs, and create employment opportunities.

The inclusion of drainage facilities is intended to ensure the durability of the infrastructure. The projects align with the government’s T.H.E.M.E.S+ Agenda, focusing on grassroots development and inclusive infrastructure across Lagos.
