LaLiga Launches Talent Discovery Program in Lagos to Develop Young Footballers

LaLiga has initiated a talent discovery program in Lagos, Nigeria, aimed at identifying and developing young football players for elite opportunities in Spain. The program seeks to unearth untapped talent in Nigeria and across Africa, with a particular focus on nurturing promising players.

Carlo Casal, the coordinator of LaLiga's Next Gen Draft football project, highlighted Nigeria's strong presence in European football and the abundance of young talent in the country. The project is designed as a long-term initiative, emphasizing free participation and a commitment to providing opportunities for aspiring footballers.

Usani, a Super Falcons defender and LaLiga global ambassador, expressed gratitude for the program, encouraging young players to focus on football and education. The initiative includes plans for a future collaboration with EA Sports in Nigeria's third-tier league.

The talent discovery program will culminate in a fully-funded development experience in Spain for selected players.
