Oyo Police Mediate Peace in Land Dispute to Prevent Violence

The Oyo State Police Command effectively intervened in a land dispute in the Sando Aar quarter of Iki Land to prevent potential violence. The conflict, stemming from a disagreement over land allocation and management rights, had escalated tensions in the Amosiko area.

Following a session at the State Police Headquarters in Eleyele Command, a formal peace accord was facilitated, emphasizing the need for all parties to maintain the status quo until a final court judgment is delivered. Prominent traditional rulers and leaders, including Oba Adeoye Gbenga and Oba Oloju Jacob Adefabi, were in attendance.

The resolution culminated in the signing of a formal letter of undertaking by representatives of the Ito Sando Aar quarter, pledging to refrain from encroachment and actions that could incite communal clashes. The Police Command commended the Inspector General of Police, Femi Haruna, for his strategic guidance and Governor Seyi Makinde's administration for their commitment to dialogue and public order.

Residents were urged to report any breaches of peace to designated emergency lines.
