LASU Best Graduate Samuel Adebanjo Earns N30 Million Reward

Samuel Oluolamide Adebanjo, a 22-year-old Aerospace Engineering graduate from Lagos State University (LASU), was recognized as the overall best graduating student for the 2025/2026 academic session, achieving a CGPA of 4.97 out of 5.00. His graduation took place during the combined 29th and 30th convocation ceremonies held in August 2026.

Adebanjo's academic excellence placed him first among 8,653 graduates, earning him a total of N30 million in rewards, which included N20 million from Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and an additional N10 million from the Sunbeth Excellence Partnership Programme (SEPP). His journey was marked by significant financial hardship, as he faced challenges in paying school fees during his Junior Secondary School years, leading to his family's relocation to Sango Ota.

Despite these difficulties, he excelled academically, receiving support from his school's proprietor and teachers. Adebanjo expressed deep gratitude to his secondary school teachers for their role in his success.
