Human Rights Lawyer Urges Discipline in Udogachi Security

Barr Ifeanyi Ejiofor, a Human Rights Lawyer, called for discipline, constitutional restraint, and legal compliance among operatives of the Udogachi Security Outfit in an open letter addressed to Anambra State Governor Prof Charles Soludo, dated 7 September 2026. Ejiofor emphasized that his appeal aims to protect the integrity of the security outfit and prevent its objectives from being compromised by misconduct.

He referenced an incident on August 16, 2025, during a bye-election for the Anambra South Senatorial zone, where Udogachi operatives allegedly attempted to forcibly enter the residence of Engr. Dr. Sir Emeka Okwuosa while brandishing weapons and firing into the air. Ejiofor stressed the importance of adhering to the Anambra State Homeland Security Law, 2025, which recognizes Agunechemba as a state security outfit, and called for urgent professional reorientation of operatives to ensure they remain accountable to the law rather than political interests.
