Taraba Govt Urged to Settle N80 Million Debt to Wukari Landowners, Lawyers Insist

Lawyers representing landowners in Wukari, Taraba State, have urged the state government to settle an outstanding judgment debt of N80 million related to land acquired for the establishment of the Federal University Wukari. The legal representatives renewed their call in a letter addressed to Governor Agbu Kefas, emphasizing the need for the government to honor the settlement agreement reached in a case involving the landowners and the state government.

While a total judgment sum of N205 million was agreed upon, with N125 million already paid, the remaining N80 million is yet to be settled, leading to concerns of breach of the agreement.
