Controversial Leaked Audio Involves Kaduna Politician Ashiru

A leaked audio recording has caused controversy in Kaduna, allegedly featuring Isa Ashiru criticizing Nasiru El-Rufai, the former governor. Aisha El-Rufai, wife of Nasiru El-Rufai, publicly declared her support for Ashiru on her verified Facebook page, stating "no retreat, no surrender." The authenticity of the audio remains unverified, and it is unclear if the voice belongs to Ashiru.

The recording suggests a political strategy related to securing a governorship ticket with the ADC, as the PDP is currently divided into factions. Prominent ADC figure Ashiru requested anonymity regarding the matter and dismissed the recording as fake, attributing it to a smear campaign by political opponents.

Despite the controversy, El-Rufai's loyalists met to discuss the situation and reaffirm their support for him. Neither Ashiru nor El-Rufai has issued an official statement regarding the audio leak.
