Lekki Port Launches MSC Weekly Feeder Service

Lekki Port, Nigeria’s leading port operator, has improved access to global markets with the introduction of Mediterranean Shipping Company’s (MSC) new weekly feeder service, which commenced on Monday. This strategic shipping connection links Lekki Port with Lomé, Togo, expanding opportunities for Nigerian importers and exporters.

Import cargo from MSC’s global network will be transshipped through Lomé before distribution to Apapa Port, Tin Can Port, and Lekki Port. Additionally, export cargo from Lekki Port will be sent to Lomé to connect with MSC’s mainline services to Europe, Asia, the Mediterranean, North America, and South America.

Wang Qiang, Managing Director of Lekki Port, stated that this development signifies growing confidence among global shipping lines in Lekki Port's infrastructure and operational efficiency. He described the service as a milestone in establishing Lekki Port as a leading transshipment and gateway port in West Africa, enhancing the competitiveness of Nigeria’s trade.
