Lekki Port Welcomes HMM-ONE Alliance to Boost Trade

On July 25, 2026, Lekki Port announced the maiden call of the HMM-ONE alliance service, a significant development for the port's integration into global shipping networks. This service is part of the Mediterranean West Africa Service, jointly operated by Hyundai Merchant Marine and Ocean Network Express, connecting key ports across Europe and West Africa.

The MA2 service aims to enhance opportunities for Nigerian importers and exporters by improving cargo movement and trade efficiency. Wang Qiang, Managing Director of Lekki Port, stated that this development underscores the port's reputation as a strategic hub for larger cargo volumes and efficient supply chains.

The inclusion of Lekki Port in this service reflects the confidence of global shipping lines in its capabilities and infrastructure. Lekki Port LFTZ Enterprise Limited, the entity awarded the concession for the port's development, is tasked with operating a common-user multipurpose port, further supporting Nigeria's ambition to become a leading maritime hub in West Africa.
