Lewandowski Matches Ronaldo, Messi's Goal Records in 15th Straight Season

Robert Lewandowski has achieved a remarkable feat by matching the goal-scoring consistency of football legends Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi. Lewandowski's goal against Mallorca in Barcelona's 3-0 La Liga victory marked his 15th consecutive season of scoring at least 10 league goals in Europe's top five leagues, a record previously held only by Ronaldo and Messi.

His impressive streak began in the 2011-12 season with Borussia Dortmund, where he scored 22 goals. After joining Bayern Munich in the summer of 2014, Lewandowski continued his prolific scoring, netting 41 goals in the 2020-21 season alone.

Following his move to Barcelona in the summer of 2022, he has already scored at least 19 goals in his first three La Liga seasons, winning the league twice. Notably, Messi, who has played for Barcelona from 2006-07 to 2020-21, scored 50 goals in a single season, the highest in the league during the 2011-12 season.

Ronaldo, on the other hand, has scored ten or more league goals in Europe's top five leagues for three different teams: Manchester United, Real Madrid, and Juventus. In the current 2022-23 season, Ronaldo has scored at least 14 league goals while playing for Al Nassr in the Saudi Pro League, matching Lewandowski's and Messi's goal records.
